Arizona State University student, Michael Garcia, and College Success Arizona’s President and CEO, Rich Nickel, had the opportunity to present information on the benefits of a college mentorship program to the Reclaiming Youth Talent Phoenix Education Summit. Rich and Michael discuss the importance of mentors as a part of successfully navigating the pitfalls of college life.
“Mentorship is very important. When I went to college, I was basically alone and there was nobody to talk too, nobody to help me out with things that professors, and other people don’t tell you. You’re like, oh now, where do I get this help? That’s where mentors come in. They’re dedicated to help you with the questions that you have and the resources that you need.”
Michael is attending the ASU Downtown campus and is one of College Success Arizona’s students enrolled in the mentorship program.
