Matt Sotelo, M.Ed

Success Adviser and Workforce Development Coordinator

Matt advises and mentors students at schools in the southern region of Arizona, including University of Arizona, Pima Community College and Arizona Western College, and helps to coordinate the Annual Leadership Symposium.   Matt also develops strategies and programming for the support services offered to our partner organizations, working to serve constituents entering the workforce.

He joined College Success Arizona in 2013. Matt has a passion for helping students achieve their higher educational goals and enjoys bringing and sharing positive energy to others around him.

Before College Success Arizona, Matt spent two years with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale as an education coordinator. His responsibilities there included helping students improve their grades, overseeing the hands-on learning center, communicating with parents regarding student academic performance and coordinating annual events such as the spelling bee and Battle of the Brains.

Matt was born into an Air Force family in Phoenix, and has also lived in South Dakota and Colorado. He graduated from high school in Colorado and found his way back to Arizona via Arizona State University, where he graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. He serves as the Southwest Regional Director for Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity. In his free time, Matt enjoys attending sports events. He is an avid ASU fan and season ticket holder. He also enjoys traveling when he has time and experiencing new and interesting cultures. Matt recently (December 2015) graduated from Arizona State University with a Master’s Degree in higher and post-secondary education.
