Johanna Urrutia is the Director of Development for College Success Arizona, where she leverages philanthropic support to assist in the organization’s mission of increasing postsecondary attainment throughout the state. Previously, Johanna was the assistant director of donor relations and stewardship at Arizona State University’s W. P. Carey School of Business. In this role, she developed and oversaw a comprehensive donor relations program, increasing donor retention rates and cultivating long-lasting relationships for the school.
Before moving to Arizona, Johanna worked in the nonprofit sector in Washington, D.C., overseeing transatlantic programming for a non-governmental organization. She oversaw eight international offices and two policy paper series, and served as the liaison for senior government and elected officials. She also assisted in the launch of the organization’s second-largest annual conference, which continues to this day in Morocco.
Originally from Virginia, Johanna holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations from the University of Mary Washington and a master’s degree in international security studies from the University of Arizona.
