Chief Actuary @ Copperpoint Mutual Insurance Joins Board

January 22nd, 2015

The Chief Actuary for Copperpoint Mutual Insurance Company has joined the Board of Directors for College Success Arizona, a leading organization in increasing college graduation rates among Arizona students.  Jennifer Carrick recently attended her first meeting as a member of the Board of Directors.

“I’m really excited to be a part of the College Success Arizona family,” said Carrick.  “Education has always been a strong part of my life.  I want every student in Arizona, no matter where they come from, to have the educational opportunities I’ve had.”

Carrick joined CopperPoint Mutual Insurance Company in June 2010.  She currently serves as an Assistant Vice President and Chief Actuary.  She was instrumental as the organization transitioned and rebranded from SCF Arizona. Carrick has more than 20 years of experience as a property and casualty actuary, gaining experience nationwide.

Prior to joining CopperPoint, Carrick was with IIC, LLC – an actuarial consulting firm in Atlanta.  Her clients included insurance companies, self-insureds, self-insurance funds and government entities. She has also held actuarial positions with Bankers Insurance Company (St. Petersburg, FL), ACE USA (Tampa, FL branch), American Association of Insurance Services (Lisle, IL) and Hawkeye-Security Insurance Company (West Des Moines, IA). Her experience includes loss reserve analysis, pricing and product development and she has worked with several lines of business.

Carrick hails from the Midwest, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science from Drake University, graduating cum laude. She is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.  She served on the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) Actuarial Committee from November 2010 to May 2012.

Carrick is the daughter of two teachers, so her passion for higher education was instilled at an early age.  She and her husband, Scott, have three miniature pinschers that are spoiled rotten.  Away from work, Carrick enjoys reading, Sudoku, watching football, swimming and traveling.

Carrick joins fellow College Success Arizona Board Members Rich Nickel, Vince Roig, Paul Koehler, Chevy Humphrey, Stephen Nehring, John Fees, Steven Seleznow, Charlie Tramell, and Gonzalo de la Melena, Jr. in leading this innovative organization, dedicated to increasing the college graduation rate of Arizona’s students.
