Myrna Cardenas

Manager of Success Services

Myrna has been with College Success Arizona since 2010 and leads the organization’s team of success advisers. She enjoys serving scholarship recipients and guiding them throughout their college career to ensure their success. Myrna is a first-generation college student and has experienced the challenges of navigating the system.

Myrna comes from Hermiston, Oregon, and began her journey in Phoenix in 2003. She began her professional career at Wells Fargo as a business specialist, where she provided support and guidance to small business owners. In 2008, Myrna transitioned to the nonprofit arena, where she discovered her true passion in serving youth and promoting higher education. Myrna served as Mentor Program Manager for Arizona Quest for Kids, where she supported the mentor program through the recruitment and retention of volunteer mentors, program planning and program support. In addition, Myrna played a key role in making all components of the organization bilingual.

Myrna also works for Big Brothers Big Sisters as a Bilingual Program Specialist, supporting matches to ensure healthy and lasting relationships. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, a Master of Public Administration, and certificate in Nonprofit Management.  Myrna is a current participant in Valle Del Sol’s  Hispanic Leadership Institute class of 2015. The Hispanic Leadership Institute is a comprehensive and culturally-relevant leadership program in partnership with Arizona State University’s College of Public Service & Community Solutions.
